The therapist who looks for the root.
I'm Amy Manuele, LCSW. I help adults and couples work through trauma, relationship patterns, and the things that keep showing up — by tracing them back to where they actually began. Healing isn't about fixing yourself. It's about understanding what happened to you, and building something steadier from there.

Amy Manuele, LCSW Elements of Healing Therapy
I've been a therapist for more than four years — but the truth is, my real training started long before that. Before I ever sat across from a client in this room, I worked as a social worker in K–12 schools, in hospitals, on a kidney transplant team, and within the VA. That range matters. It means I've sat with people at the hardest moments of their lives, from every walk of life, long before "therapist" was the word on my door.
In my own words: "My background in social work at a K–12 school system, hospital, and local kidney transplant team have also prepared me to work and engage with people from all walks of life." Each of those settings taught me something different about how people carry pain — and how they heal.
I'm also a military wife. I know the world of service from the inside — the deployments, the homecomings, the quiet weight families carry. So when a veteran, an active-duty service member, or a first responder's family sits down with me, they don't have to translate. They don't have to explain what the job costs. I already understand a lot of it.
Mostly, I work with adults — usually 26 and up — and with couples. Trauma is my focus, especially the kind that's been minimized, buried, or mistaken for something else. Childhood trauma, adult trauma, military trauma — that's the work I do most, and the work I care about most.
I believe that looking for the roots — the core issues — is what actually helps with the things people come in seeking answers for.

Not managing symptoms — finding the source
I don't believe in chasing symptoms in circles. My work starts underneath — tracing the patterns, the reactions, and the core wounds back to where they actually began. That's where lasting change becomes possible.
Every person is different, so the approach is too. I draw on a range of evidence-based, trauma-informed methods and tailor them to you — paced around your readiness, never rushed. This is your treatment and your goals; my job is to help you reach them.
My Wickenburg office is a quiet, comfortable place to do that work. And for clients across Arizona who can't make it in person, I offer the same care over secure telehealth.
The methods behind the work
EMDR
An evidence-based method that helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their grip — without having to relive every detail.
PIT — Pia Mellody's Model
Post Induction Therapy. A structured approach to childhood wounds, boundaries, self-esteem, and the relational patterns that follow us into adulthood.
Internal Family Systems
IFS works gently with the different "parts" of you — the protective ones and the wounded ones — so they no longer run the show. I'm completing Frank Anderson's IFS Trauma Treatment Program.
CBT & DBT
Practical, well-researched tools for the present moment — managing anxiety, regulating emotion, and changing the thoughts and patterns that keep you stuck.
ART — Accelerated Resolution Therapy
A brief, structured approach with a strong research base in trauma and post-traumatic stress, including among veterans and military families.
Always Training
I keep learning. My credentials grow with the research, so the care you receive reflects what's actually working in trauma treatment today — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
